Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone know how much room is available on the slope on a Friday daytime as their website says that part of the slope will be sectioned off for preparations for the evening freestyle event. Got the day off tomorrow and thought we'd go up for the day.

I know it's not La Plagne, but...

Cunners, We were there with the snowHeads meet last Saturday. There is still enough room to ski down OK with the sectioned off bit being used for jumping over things on snowboards, but the upshot is that the snow gets cut up a lot and this means lumpy in places and thin cover in others. I will say that I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the snow last week. It could have done with an iron over it for me, but then I do like my snow on the flat side.

If the preparations take up about as much room as the actual objects (which I can only assume they do) then it is about 1/3 of the slope on one side.

It didn't affect us much when we went there, but then it depends if you need the full width of the slope for any reason. Later on in the day it will mean that the other 2/3 will have a rut down the centre of it, but that made for some fun bumps on either side when we did a Friday night.

Chris Bish, Cheers everyone. We've decided to go tomorrow (Saturday) instead on the assumption that the obstacles would be gone - but are you suggesting that they were still there last Saturday?

They certainly were. Even as accomplished a skier as Rachel Q, commented on the conditions eventuating therefrom. Might be worth ringing them to ask.
