Any suggestions for good boot fitters anywhere near Matlock? If not, I am prepared to travel if anyone knows of a good fitter.

Don't know anyone in Matlock I'm afraid but Colin at http://solutions4feet.com/ is as good as boot fitters get. Knows his stuff, very experienced and won't oversell. I have used him, as have many others I know (mainly racers, instructors...or snowHeads!)

wangan, Graham at Rivington Alpine is highly recommended by many  's. I had my boots fitted there last season and he knows his stuff, but don't expect to be out of the shop for a good few hours, he's very thorough.

I went to Glide and Slide in Otley, West Yorkshire and they were very competent. Spend a fair bit of time looking at your feet and narrowing down the right couple of boots for your feet within their large stock. Nice and friendly but most of all knew what they were doing. Very efficient, without being pushy and had plenty of equipment for boot adjustment (stretching, etc) and doing foot beds for an improved fit. Certainly seemed to know what they were doing and have been very happy with the fit. I know of other people who have been back for minor adjustments and this has been done quickly and for free. Plus they make a nice cup of coffee!

Haha, yeah I did end up in a pair! but I had some Head, Salomon and Lange on as well.
