Poster: A snowHead
|
Can anyone recommend an apartment in La Rosiere for helf term week (19th - 26th Feb 2011). I will have a car but would prefer to be slopeside or Le Centre sector as we have a large number of friends staying in this area. I have been offered an apartment in Les Terrasses by the tourist office for about this budget if anyone, it looks very old in the pictures and wondered if there was soemthing better out there before I book.
Thanks

Frosty, have you had a look to see what Erna Low are offering in the resort? I think La Terrasse is above the shops, but it is a while since we were in La Ros.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Just checked it out and they seem a bit up market for me £1947 as their cheapest apartment that week, thanks for the reply though

Frosty, they usually have more reasonably priced apartments too, but perhaps not in La Ros.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Frosty, for £500 for half term week I should think it would be pretty old - the going rate around our way, for a 2 bed apartment for half term, is about twice that.

Hells Bells, I guess its half term prices, Les Terrasses looks a bit grim but could be better than it looks.

Frosty, have a look on Chalet Montagne if you haven't already done so, or Homelidays.

pam w, well it looks cheap, there are only two photos available and it looks a bit basic. Certainly everything else is about double the cost. I'm suspicious..

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hells Bells, thanks for the links, good spot, I've had some photos now, its a little old and not quite as well placed as your first link but still close and with the assurance there are no bars below (this was my main concern). I think I'm going to book as its a whopping 8m sq larger and I'll have a car (or I'm happy to walk/drag children to the lift in the morning).
pam w, thanks, I know it sounds dodgy but the TO assure me its ok, could be a trip report coming...I'm almost excited at the prospect of it being terrible with the opportunity to write a damning post here afterwards or during.

Frosty, well if you go with no great expectations then it will probably be fine. Half the time people seem to expect the earth when they don't pay a huge amount and are then disappointed. What sort of prices are they charging at other times of the season?
Just tell the kids they are lucky to be there - and think that it is a bit better than being in a camper van.

You know it makes sense.

Frosty, even with bars below, La Rosiere is pretty quiet in the evenings.

Frosty, I hope it's just a good bargain. If it's warm and comfortable, that's the main thing.
