Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

FIS approves World Cup for women's ski jumpers

Poster: A snowHead
It’s a giant leap for elite women's ski jumpers. At the FIS Congress in Antalya (Turkey) last week, voting members unanimously agreed to sanction a women's ski-jumping World Cup circuit for the 2011-12 season. Hopefully, this will boost an ever-stronger bid for inclusion of the event in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
It was also unanimously agreed to ask the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to include men's and women's halfpipe skiing in the 2014 Winter Olympics. ...See: http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/news/pressreleases/press-releases-2010/council-antalya-summary.html

rich.ll, interesting, the weight advantage of the men wouldn´t hinder the girls thats for sure!I don´t know, the only sport I can think of where the girls are allowed to take on the boys is Equestrianism.

This is very interesting, the guys actually weigh in at about 56-60 kilos, so lighter than I thought at first. You have to love FIS for the reasons they give against womens ski jumping!

el Hen, el hen - loved the 'giant leap' expression!

I imagine there are too many male egos at stake to allow women to compete with men in the same events. OTOH, if the are allowed to go from the same jumps and launch points, they effectively will be.
