Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Oh lord, what have I done?

...Or, I now own a pair of skis. Very Happy

So I finally got my own skis, couldn't resist a very nice price from the distributor on a pair of last season's Stockli Stormrider VXLs. All very exciting and they do look nice and shiney right now but oh my god! They do seem rather stiff! Shocked

Can someone please convince me that:
a). If I really enjoyed them for 2 days when I skied them in 168 last season then I will still love them in 179 (I'm 6 foot 75kg so you know it makes sense) Puzzled
b). They're proper big boy skis and it's great to have the opportunity to grow into them (As in 'I'd better get my technique together next season!'). Toofy Grin

Actually, right now the big probelm is working out what to do between now and when I can finally try them out... snowHead

Swiss Toby, if you do go to Hemel don't be worried if you don't get on with them in the fridge. It's difficult to really get enough speed indoors to get the most out of stiffer wider-radius skis.

It's very tempting but there are 2 things making it tricky:

1. It's a 300 mile round trip

2. The skis are currently lacking bindings.

Now, the first I could probably deal with but skiing without bindings is just a little bit beyond my technical level right now! Toofy Grin

Actually, I've arranged to get the bindings done tomorrow so that excuse is out the window... Confused

Still 300 miles though... anyone got a spare bed? Little Angel

P.S. Andyph, maybe we should have a rematch one day when you're not in a hurry to go off bothering the local wildlife. Very Happy

Batman123, Sorry, you'll have to put the shirt back in the draw. I've just had some work come up at zero notice so will definitely not be jaunting across the country to ski this weekend. Sad

Maybe next month... snowHead
