Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are there any major differences between skiing goggles and MotoX goggles, the same companies make a lot of them, just wondered whether there were any big differences, a good reason not to ski with MotoX goggles or something?
Cheers

Interesting question
MotoX goggles
Ski goggles (same brand:
Scott
)
I suspect that MotoX goggles aren't made for the same temperature extremes, and may not have the same UV protection, but maybe we can pitch the question to
Scott
if the definitive answer doesn't appear here. I can't imagine that the same anti-fog and enhanced visibility issues arise with MotoX - would anyone go out on a bike on a MotoX track in a
blizzard
/white-out?
Are MotoX goggles double-lensed? Are their lenses ever tinted?
As I understand it, the tinting of ski goggle lenses is cleverly designed to alter the optical message received by the eye in looking at snow, particularly when visibility is a problem.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Some lenses used in motor sports are polarizing lenses which reduce glare. Polarized lenses should be avoided while skiing as it may reduce contrast resulting in you not seeing bumps or worse being unable to distinguish between ice patches and snow.

, I think you'll find that Moto-X googles are single lens - at least my Oakleys are. I expect the frames are slightly different to accomodate the lens.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

some moto cross goggles have attachment points to allow tear offs and rolls of clear acetate to be attached that automatically clear the vision as they get muddy. A lot of the vent holes are bigger to allow greater air flow moto cross in wet and mud causes lots of misting up.
