Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arno, Your suggestion to hire a car from the swiss side, I found that it costs more on the swiss side (from the same hire company)

mike.healy, that's usually because the Swiss vehicles carry the Swiss motorway toll sticker, a vignette. The French hire cars do not, so if you cross to Switerland and want to drive on their motorways, you have to buy one at the border for CHF40.

Chris Reed, I think he means La Grave. Not really a resort though! Totally off piste but truly magnificent. You can ski it from this side too.

BTW I've been in Qs in LG during Feb ½ term - just like everywhere else!

easiski, of he's talking about La Grave he probably hasn't been in a while! My experience - pretty quiet in January; half hour queues in early March. And there hadn't been fresh snow for several weeks.

Arno, You can get quite long queues at the mid-station. Last year was bad - of course as they don't remove any obstacles from the ski area, they need more snow to have a good season. Sadly I only went 3 times last season due to the poor conditions. I was doing major damage to my skis, and the clients were really struggling lower down. Still worth it though - the place really rocks. I have the impression from previous threads that ski goes there at every opportunity. Very Happy Very Happy

easiski, the times I've been there, mid-station hasn't been too bad. Maybe the conclusion is that (consistent with La Grave generally) the lift is a bit unpredictable. But that's why we love it Very Happy

Arno, One time I had to Q for about 30mins! I was shocked and horrified! It's not what you expect at LG, however that's only once! Also had to Q a bit at P1 going down on occasion - oh horror!!!!! rolling eyes rolling eyes
