Still snowing in Lech

I go home early sat. Lots of snow around, got a massive face shot in the bushes down to blue 4 but also released a small slide of the fresh snow so skied gentler slopes then. Vis varied massively today. Got lucky at the top of stuben as the sun came out & found some nice snow.
still snowing now in stuben must be 50cm+ of fresh in places I reckon.

Definitely 50cm of fresh snow. Skied untouched powder in Zurs at 2pm.. all under a 6man chairlift! Was amazing! Also got to demo the new fischer mount st elias skis.. aaah sublime!

They've got the snow cannons up and running again in Lech (and think I heard them running in Anton too last night) as the temperatures have dropped obviously to try and keep the pistes open as long as possible as some are looking very much worse for wear. The recent snow has helped (didn't seem to hav had any effect at resort level in Anton) although it's alreay melting and revealing the green patches beneath again.

Out with the kids today, still made fresh tracks in kid friendly gullies in between pistes, loads of fresh around, but is sliding as it warms up & the new snow slides off the frozen old snow.

on the long drive back to leeds currently. Skied from stuben to rendl & back with the kids yesterday, lovely snow all over & snow cannon running at the top of the rendl gondola til about 2pm.
there still was plenty of scope for some fresh tracks that I saw. All the cosmetic cover low down has gone, so st anton is back to green with white strips, but still winter snow on rendl, but r1 down was closed for the season judging by the pisteurs removing all the poles.

I had a couple good days of powder... but after doing a stupid decision in St. Christoph, I'm done now! Snow is helping me make that decision as well... I think I've used up my luck for the season. Nice end of season dump though.. but it's already melting away. Village run from Rendl is closed already.. And I leave next Friday already!

Timmaah, go on then, what was the 'stupid decision'.
I must admit we did not venture far from the piste after seeing slopes we skied last year that had avalanched down to bare earth before the mid week top up....

Huh? How did you do that?
(I do not know of a direct way, unless you are talking about going up Valfagehr, down to StA, up Rendlbahn, etc?)

Went to do my usual off piste route down to St. Christoph by going down a gully near the top of St. Christophbahn.. but one I went for had no snow so had to veer left to prevent from climbing back up.. Ended up in the masses of rocks, and grass, and small cliffs..
This season I've set off dozens of avalanches (a couple big ones), almost smacked my head against rocks a fair few times, hiked up precarious lines.. so ya. Luck used up - it's been ridiculously fun though - and stupid..

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another late season dump as I'm not leaving the Arlberg until after the lifts have shut... Be nice to get a bit more boarding in before the end of the season, missed enough of it this season thru injury.

Trying to upload an image from the last day Rendl was open..... We could still find some great snow on piste at 2pm!! Not sure if this is the correct way to upload pic though!! We will see....

All - great place, going MTB-ing in summer to refresh my batteries of the Arlberg again, only about 250 sleeps until hitting the slopes in St Anton again!! Cant wait, best in class IMO.
