The newly formed 11-strong British Ski and Snowboard squad has found an, as yet unnamed, sponsor to fund them for the next 2 years. After SnowsportGB went into administration owing £300,000, just before the winter Olympics, the British ski team had to fund their own training. Careful. You might discover that the philanthropists of old and the big mystery sponsors of today are not so different... 
By all accounts there are a couple of other names in the mix too. Presumably a combination of finalising contracts as you say, and an attempt to build a bit of interest.
skimottaret, Mark Tilston has accepted a coaching post with the Spanish federation. Better money/career opportunities it can only be assumed. It's very difficult for a British coach to make it elsewhere, so the best of luck to him.
