I've heard a few rumours that the dry ski slope in Sunderland is going to be redeveloped and turned into an indoor facility ala Chillfactore. with 2012 being touted as a possible start date...
Any truth in this..?

Mac22, the proposed new slope is not on the same site as the existing dry slope at Silksworth. I think the new one will be across the river close to the Stadium of Light.

I heard sommat to do with the Gateshead Stadium being developed - with skiing on indoor real snow slope - as a centre for competitive sports training.
Dunno what happened to that.
