Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

In general no. Mostly these lists just reflect an obsession with skiing and, in some cases, with lists/record-keeping. Personally, I ended up answering the question because other people's lists eventually had me stopping to think about where I'd actually been, including a few places I'd pretty much forgotten about. It was quite an interesting exercise.

Just found this on a search and thought people might like to read/update their lists - I was certainly surprised by how much skiing we've actually done now! 160 days and coming up on 20 years Shocked Any of the other old timers from the start of this thread still around?

Suggest updating your original rather than copying and pasting - mine is at: http://www.snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=64&start=177. It's fun to see how times have changed since I joined as a blue run nervous nellie.

pam w, I was told off for questioning the purpose of such a thread, only I called it a wee weeing up the wall contest. I was asked recently to take part in a survey of which resorts I had skied and was asked to stop when we reached 224! But I live in the mountains so I suppose I have an unfair advantage. And I spent 2 years sampling the delights of the French Alps and eastern France while living in Alsace. We skied a different area every week!, but this was before prices started to rocket after the Parisian, Lyonnaise and Marseillaise mafiosos moved it and started treating the ski resorts as cash cows. I think it's more that some of us (myself and nbt for a start) like to look nostalgically back on previous trips and how we have changed over the years. I don't see it as a competitive thing at all. Perhaps if you don't like it, you should try just ignoring it?

My God, not sure how I've missed this thread but there's a lot of people with phenomenol memories plus a few others with tendencies bordering on Aspergers regarding ski resorts

My list in no particular order and I'm not even going to try and work out when or how much as I've had at least 3 different hols every year for over 20 years. Of course this is just the ones I've stayed whereas in certain linked areas I've visited loads of others

Is this the ultimate willy-waving thread?

I think it probably is, either that or some of the posters never found anywhere they actually liked that much they wanted to return.

I think it's interesting to write down where you've been. I've typed this out so it reads as the main resort where I've stayed, followed by the places I've skied while staying there in brackets. This is starting from way back in 1989.

In the last three years I have been to just about every resort in Switzerland, well at least all those that have at least one chairlift! In most cases I've taken public transport, but sometimes car. Oh, yes, usually get a couple of Austrian and Black Forest resorts every season, so I can update anyone on those. I run a web site on Swiss resorts and have reports posted at my blog at http://www.swisswintersports.com. If there is anything you want to know about skiing, snowboarding or any other winter sports in Switzerland, just ask! Also open to learning tips too.
