Absolutely, there is indeed a very different level of skill required. (I can still carve an "old school" ski quite happily). Shaped skis are massively more efficient however (but for many, flopping over to let it happen is what they're doing, without exaggeration). IMO, in many cases, shaped skis have simply moved the problem from that of turn initiation to turn completion.
Naw, I wasn't (I'm afraid) ripping anything at two. Took a few years to get there.

I understand there are parties where this would not just be acceptable but the start of a great evening, however I think it's safe to say that such behaviour, displayed unfettered, might limit the sort of invitations you receive in the future.

sherlock235, as ever, I forgot to take the camera. It was very nice though, pistes in perfect condition, still lots of powder around although some of it is a bit wind blown. Snow was getting a bit soapy lower down when the sun hit it, but you can't really complain about that three weeks from the end of the season.
