well i think most skiers should be pronating themselves and chanting

without sidecut the vast majority of technically inept skiers i see out "carving" their way down the slopes would be skidding about the place like bambi on ice. put eveyone on an old school set of 205 skis - you know the ones nearly seven foot of pencil ski and see how you all get on without this technical innovation - brought to you by the wonderful world of snowboard. (i do ski as well as snowboard and know how easy it is to carve those waisted numbers. anyone with a modicum of ability should look like they're on rails)

Sorry, bit off topic.
I was thinking about getting my 10 year old nephew a games console for his birthday. Does anyone know which is better out of an Xbox 360 and a Playstation 3?
We're also going to be getting him a pet, so any opinions on which is better - cats or dogs - would also be most welcome. Thanks in advance everyone!

paulio, Word of warning, if you get him a PS3 and a male cat, make sure the former is protected from the latter's tendency to 'mark his territory'.
PS3's are not catpi$$proof.
PS.(1) - PS3 is vastly superior to XBOX
PS.(2) - Cats make wonderful pets, dogs are for losers who wear hats
PS.(3) - Your nephew will much prefer an iPhone anyway.

under a new name, harrisontherabbit,so they had a sidecut of what, 4mm? upon seeing how well snowboards turned ski designers followed suit, roughly quadrupling the sidecut and altering the natural turn radius by a factor of ten. the difference between 'old' and 'new' is immense. there's a very different level of skill required to flex up an old school 'straight' ski to enable a carved turn, and merely flopping over sideways and letting it all happen (ok - a slight over exageration).
by the way under a new name, i like the idea of you ripping the pow at two (probably) , wiki is crap i know, but then i couldn't be arsed to find anything more 'official'.
i don't have a beef with skiers, i am one. i don't have a beef with boarders, i am on. probably why i have both dogs and cats, but neithter a playstation nor an x-box
