Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Kappl/ Ischgl to St Anton Lift

Is that new building also a car park? If there's going to be more uplift, there needs to be more parking capacity, as it's inadequate for even the current usage, and given the nature of the narrow valley, you can't just “leave it a bit further up”.

That said, I've never seen a queue for the lift, so I'm not sure the extra capacity is really necessary, though I appreciate the lift might need replacing due to age.

By the way it is possible to ski from Ischgl to Kappl off piste (with a short uphill walk/skin). Not a bad way to end a day if you leave a car at Kappl (We were staying at Landek).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You don't need to leave a car if you don't have one , there are loads of buses up and down the valley.

I can't believe the Arlbergers would want their place polluted by auslanders...

This has all gone away, As far as I can remember Kappl would have had to build a new lift to run up to the ridge with the Malfontal, refurbing an existing lift was not part of the plan. The Kappl lift company was very upset about the court decision whereas the Arlberger Bergbahnen AG were happy to forget the whole thing. Given they would have to provide most of the funds cant see this is ever going to happen whatever happens in Kappl. The Arlberg hardly needs more visitors!

New Lifts & Piste will appear on Rendl 26727 season latest 27/28 season..

New Kappl Gondola (capacity) is a game changer for them.

@snowball, Ischgl to Kappl off piste?

Yes but it in an extreme Avalanche zone..

There were plans for a lift (I wrote with graphics) about this some seasons ago to connect Ischgl to Kappl ...This would require extensive Avalanche barriers, controls etc ..

There was also a plan to bore a Railway/transit tunnel from St.Anton through to Ischgl ..

@stanton, we were with a very good guide. Perhaps not a self-guide route.
