Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Base repair with p-tex candle?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
During my last ski trip I had a full ski service done but on the next day I went over some rocks and now have two big holes (5cm and 3cm) right next to the edge and down to the metal (see pic of the larger hole). I have some basic equipment incl p-tex candle, scraper and somewhat limited experience. I suspect that holes of that size should really be fixed by a shop, any DIY work will not stay put and will fall out sooner or later anyway. Should I save myself the bother and let a professional fix it next winter (in the meantime I would just put some storage wax on).

Cheers.

might hold a few days if you are lucky but probably needs a piece epoxying in.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Have it fixed before you put storage wax on.

Thanks daehwons and comprex. Unfortunately around here (Israel) there is no one I would trust with that sort of job....anything else I can do until next winter?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

snowman, ah.

In that case, yes, sure, fix it with the candle then storage wax; it will be easy to get the repair out.

That edge looks a bit blown out?
