Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snowboard bindings - advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My front right foot Salomon SPX4 strap snapped (just above the base plate) at the weekend - basically plastic materila just split in two. Thankfully I was only on a red path in Zermatt so was not going fast - could have been worst ... What do you think I should - will Salomon accept any responsibility given that bindings are 3 years old?

1 year warranty on bindings, so think you're onto a loser there. I've had a toe strap give way on me before now, was a hairy ride down to base. You should be able to get either a proper replacement or any toe-strap may do you. Have a look at the burton cap straps, I rate em as they're much more comfortable than the old over-the-top toe straps. They're about £30 for a pair.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Richard - I also have a pair of Burton P1s which I really rate (with toe cap strap). Have just been to Ellis Brigham (where I bought Salomon pair from) - they were very helpful and offered to send binding back to Salomon for repair at a cost.
