Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dynastar Sultan 85

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Considering buying a pair of Sultan 85s for all mountain use with a look to getting more and more off piste action

I'm 6 ft, 70kg and an advanced intermediate looking for a ski to take me to the advanced level

Any feedback on the Sultans or any other recommendations

Thanks Chris

They're ace - a lot better both on and offpiste than the old Legend 8000's. Stiff (and torsionally) construction and shapely mid radius sidecut carves very well on piste with good grip, short turns are also fine, like to be driven fast, and more float in powder than you'd think thanks to the shovel. They're at their best when the snow isn't perfect, really good at blasting through lumps, ruts and bumps, but sometimes struggle for grip when it's icy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would expect them to struggle a little with ice but i'm used to that using my liberty hazmats which have the same problem with a 94mm waist

Well pretty sure they'll be better than those on the hard stuff then. I mostly use mine for the days when I'm mostly gonna be on piste (skiing with family/teaching), which they're great for as they have the versatility to go off when you spot something cool.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Agreed...an amazing ski. I tested some in St. Anton and they shredded the pistes, the faster and harder you went the more solid and powerful they became...LOVED being on their edges...off piste, even in chopped up old stuff, and with my dodgy technique, it was 200% better than previous attempts, so really ticks the confidence building box...

Put it this way, i put them on aout 8:45 and i had such a blast i didnt even think about stopping for lunch until 14:30... Very Happy

Sweet graphics too IMHO!
