Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi I'm new here

my mate and I are heading out to Roc d'Enfer on Thursday for a couple of days. Has anyone been and have any hints and tips? The ski area looks pretty small so we may want to head elsewhere on day 2 & 3..any advice?

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

If its the same Roc d'Enfer i'm thinking of, then drive up to Ardent via Montriond and pick up the the PdS for Avoriaz/Chatel/Switzerland

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I don't know but it looks very small on the maps. Perhaps OK for a weekend but otherwise I reckon you'd be going to Avoriaz/Morzine up the valley.

rat, There's enough for a full day for enthusiastic skiers. We usually have a day there if we are in the Portes du Soleil area. If you are confident and reasonably fast you will be able to do two full circuits in a day as well as skiing all the other runs a couple of times. Be aware the bottom of the runs is quite low (around 800-900m I think) so if the weather is too warm the last part of the two runs down the long valleys on the circuit won't be too good.

Assuming you are regular skiers I would suggest following BergenBergen's advice and accessing the main PDS area from Montriond on your other days but have a day around the Roc d'Enfer. I'd suggest Saturday or Sunday - Euro 13 for a day's lift pass!

Restaurant Licorne at the top of the gondola is good and there is a really nice little place just down from the Col des Follys (Le Tavaillon, I think) as you go round the circuit.

I was there last Tuesday and it was still in good condition.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you all, that's very helpful...looks like we'll head to PdS for one of the days. I'll be sure to check out those restaurants DJL
