Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Weights - is there a list anywhere?

I've got a difference of opinion with someone I ski with wink as to which of our skis weigh's the most - at the moment I haven't managed to get hold of them and my reasonabley accurate, I think, bathroom scales at the same time to check. Is there anywhere that gives a list of what different skis weigh - either with our without manufacturers standard bindings - possibly useful for those that fly I should think. I've tried the manufacturers websites, but this is one piece of data that they don't seem to give - always loads of stuff on other measurements, but very rarely on any site I've found is there weights given, I just wondered if there was a collated list on any of the other forums or websites that I'm missing.

Spyderjon has a fair bit of info about this. However, I think you'll find that the bindings are the heavy bits.

The two skis are Rossignol 9X WC Oversize (08/09) in a 170cm with standard manufacturer's bindings, and Elan Magfire 78 Ti's 168cm with standard manufacturer's bindings - I am sure the Elans are the heaviest when it comes to lugging them around Laughing Toofy Grin My partner reckons he has weighed them and found the Rossi's are heaviest - I am amazed and would like to find some official figures if I can. Mosha Marc, I guess it could well be the difference in the bindings - I hadn't looked at that aspect of it - though I think both skis are sandwiched up with metal sheets in their construction so there could be some weight from those - though the Rossis look to have two layers of metals to only one in the Elans I still think the Elans are heavier.

Clearly the relationship has moved on from the gazing-into-each-others-eyes, at-it-like-rabbits stage then. Laughing

I don't know of a list but http://www.telemark-pyrenees.com/shop/index.php?cPath=1_53_320_397 have ski weights for all their skis as far as I can tell.

A few hours graft will give you a list.

There's a guy on TGR who has a fairly extensive list of ski weights though it's highly balanced towards the fat/off piste/ski mountaineering end of the market so I'm not sure there's much chance of your skis being on it.
