Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Moutain Awareness/Avalanche Awareness Course or Training

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone point me in the right direction of a company who runs mountain awareness or avalanche awareness training preferably in the alps. Thi is in preparation for spending far greater amount of time next season in the mountains having purchased a place.
Ideally looking for weekend or 2/3 days course at some point early next season - thanks.

You could try these
I'm not sure how good the avalanche awareness bit would be . I think that the US equivalent is a 2 day course, and these people seem to be cramming alot into one day.
Be interested to hear what others have to say on this. I was looking at trying to do a similar course in Scotland but ran out of time for this season.

Henrys Avalance Talk (see http://www.henrysavalanchetalk.com ) in Val d'Isere goes some way to providing what you want. Henry has been talking about having some one day sessions that provide exactly what you want. As far as I know he has not yet arranged any such days. However, you could ski with Henry or Andreas (contact both via http://www.alpineexperience.com ) and request they spend time on what you want. Email or phone Alpine Experience and see if they can provide what you want.

I have been skiing with Alpine Experience earlier this winter and all of their teachers are very aware of mountain safety. They are off piste experts and are very concerned about the current snow state. See for example the March 8 entry in their web site's newsletter.
