No you are not too late
First Choice? eg £469 (basic web price) catered chalet in Les Deux Alpes from Gatwick. ( I've just booked Cervinia from Glasgow for 14 Mar at over £300 less than original brochure price.)
www.firstchoice-ski.co.uk Go search!!
Have you tried www.skitotal.com ?

It's not last minute for the 6/7 March yet! Be flexible, and be prepared to spend a few hours at it.

I was panicking a few days ago too for this coming weekend, but as long as your willing to keep at it I reckon you will have a chance (if your at work and have an understanding boss keep the crystal/neilson/inghams websites open and periodically refresh or search again for the same criteria). A deal to Les Arcs dropped from £1044 to £469 last Saturday, then appeared again yesterday morning - the offers do come - but your not the only person waiting for them so be quick (that was with Crystalski btw)
Incidentally the website offer I mention appeared about 7.30am on both Saturday and Tuesday so maybe get up early and check, for what its worth Neilson seem to drop their prices mid afternoon from my spying over the last few weeks
Hope this helps, and good luck finding something.

Hi all,
thanks for all replies so far.
all TOs I ring say that the problem is lack of flights. however they keep saying that prices will come down. I honestly don't understand how this can happen.
another thing that I have noticed is that everything they advertise in their websites aren't available. I believe they do not updated their websites regularly.
anyway I shall keep searching and hoping to be able to go somewhere next weekend.

Try Chalets Direct Solutions room and book your own flights. Flights seem to be more reasonalbe at short notice than usual- well from the south west airports i use anyway ! A lot of the chalets offer transfers as part of the deal or can help you sort them.

You know it makes sense.

PS I just booked this way for 6th march and I had to go to Meribel as meeting friends there !

You'll get last minute deals right up to the, er last minute. Check www.ifyouski.com to get a flavour about the general deal position, then call them up. The one you were looking at will probably not be available, but there will almost certainly be something similar available (personal experience).

in the end I booked own flights and arranged accom. via chalets direct. It would be cheaper to go with bmibaby from Birm. but it is a long drive for me. decided to pay a bit extra and depart from an airport near home. Not a bad deal considering what I have managed to organise.
as a lesson I think best thing to do is to book flight as early as possible and get them really cheap, and leave accom (catered chalet in my case) for the last minute.
hope there will be some fresh snow in La Rosiere next week. Anyway it is my 2nd week so still loads to learn.

redbaron51, That is what most of us do! Book flights to an airport of your choice and wait. Close to your departure check what resorts near your chosen airport have good snow and then book accommodation and transfers! Enjoy

jennycook, Hi Jenny. I think this is the way to go. I am still a noob, this is my 2nd week. I was also concerned about slope suitability for beginners, as OH isn't so confident yet. Having read few threads + internet, I think this has been a good choice as it seems that the slopes are wide and not too steep. Looking forward to next week
