Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

2nd hand skis

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

I have just bought some 2nd hand ski's - they were too much of a bargain to pass (and were the same kind as I was looking to buy new after taking some advice). Am a new skiier (I like having my own kit but somehow convince myself if I buy the kit, I'll do the hobby more often!), so am totally clueless about what ancilliary bits and bobs I need to buy. Bags and straps obviously, but do I need wax etc?

Am taking my skis in to be serviced before I get on them - going to EB at the Snowdome (unless anyone has any other recommendations) - do you think they would show me what I need to do to maintain them?

Ta.

lt81, Welcome to Snowheads. I doubt EB would show you what to do and lose business.

You need to book on one of Spyderjon's ski tuning courses. He is a snowHead and is well respected on here and he's based near Nottingham, so not so far for you. See his web site here :-

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks geepee! I'll take a look. To be fair to EB, the lad that works there has been ace with my boot fitting.
