Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm particularly taken with the Salopettes that look like Jeans that look Boarder Cross (sp?) skiers were wearing yesterday. Are these widely available?

PeteMan, yes, for a daft price - they are the new USA colours. Punter's advice - buy cheap jeans and don't fall over or ski while it's snowing wink

Did ski in jeans with gaiters in Santa Fe once. Away without regular gear. Agree, just do not fall if it's at all wet.

Lots of companies make the snowpants that look like jeans, including Burton. they were really big last season. 686, who make amazing outerwear, is doing a collaboration with Levi's this year.

I really don't get it. Wearing jeans on the mountain is almost as bad as using snowblades, it's never looked cool, it's never been cool, it just makes you look like the biggest billy bunter/gaper around. Why on earth make salopettes that look like denim?!! You may as well get salopettes with a built in toilet seat to complement your body position!!

Alpkit Jeanius. Waterproof jeans. I've been thigh deep in powder in them but mostly wear them when we're messing about with the kids.

edit: sorry if they offend you Clarky.

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

OK maybe I phrased that a bit too strongly (I was tempted to put in a 'laughing smiley face emoticon thing to keep it light) but I really htink they look a bit stupid, usually the preserve of Parisian teenagers and don't show the mountains the respect they deserve.

clarky999, is right, denim is soooo last year. What you need is something happenin', something trendsetting, something a la mode, in subtle colours:

clarky999, actually I don't wear jeans but I do have some board pants that look like them. I think the Alpkit ones would be ok though especially for just messing about on piste, my mate has some and they're very good: properly waterproof and warm too.
