Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi All,
I am looking to get to Val Thorens for a week, w/c 6th March. The party will be 6 people, but only 2 will be there for the full week. All chaps, and don't mind 2 to a room sharing and/or sofabed in the living area. I am looking for a self catered apartment or chalet ideally. Does anyone have any recommedations, as I've never been before.
Recently stayed in Belle Plagne at a block called Montagnettes Des Cimes, and something similar would be ideal.
Cheers, Bradders.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

There is a Montagnettes in Val T IIRC, close to the clock tower. They also have the Oxalys lower down which is pricey ++ but has a good restaurant. We stayed in the Balcons du Soleil, at the top of the resort which were a bit tired and worn to be frank, although well laid out.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We stayed in the Temples Du Soleil last year, run by Pierre et Vacances. It's very basic but well located, right by the piste at the bottom of the village (near the Funitel) and wasn't too expensive (for VT). Some rooms have bunk alcoves, bedrooms and sofabeds, depending on size. Cheap-ish and cheerful.

I've stayed here also and it's fine. The only thing I would say is (depending on which part of the building your room is in), there is a lively bar over the road (Moo Bar) open late, which may or may not put you off.

Good point - we were lucky enough to be on the piste side, couple of floors up and it was very quiet, but it's a big place. Our friends were allocated an apartment right at the other end of the building but their balcony opened directly onto the piste, which was really good.

Thanks for all the comments. To meet all the needs of those going, it looks like we will end up at Le Tikal. Has anyone got experiences of there?
This trip is taking some putting together!
Cheers Bradders.
