On a more serious note, in spite of your views of Salomon skis, they were pretty good on the hard stuff too which I had my reservations about. Are Salomons generally considered too soft to be a serious carver etc then? |
Probably, the 3V and some others are OK, they do make skis that racers use. The bulk of their range isn't quite the same though, we're taking the mickey but they're producing skis the market wants, half of their range walk out of the stores on their own. In fact, as U can testify, they can walk away at a mountain restaurant 
The balance here is between skis that make it easy to ski and skis that make you ski well. If you ski a lot then you want the latter maybe, as long as they're usable at the end of the day when you're a bit tired. If you want something that's easy that's fine I guess, but it's a slippery slope at the bottom of which is a pair of blades
I'm knocked out by the Stöcklis now (as I keep saying), it's a ski that "encourages" me to ski well, compared to the Dynastar 68's for example which pretty much force me to ski well, if you see the distinction I'm making.

Yes, after the Atomic's I understand.
Wear The Fox Hat, I mean a racing ski which I presume most Atomic skis are designed for rather than a more recreational (some carving but not always) on-piste ski, which Salomon is geared more towards.

hayley t, there are plenty of Atomic skis for all levels, but their recreational skis are more honest about a skiers ability than the equivalent Salomon.

You thought that last year's Salomon 10 3v were good.. You should try this year's 10 3v LAB series, in an even shorter length. Absolutely freakin' fantastic skis! Thanks for the 'old' 3v's BTW.

colinmcc, I thought last years 3Vs were good, but then I tried the Head iXRCs, and they were GRRRRRRREAT! (Tony Tiger voice)
