Poster: A snowHead

I'm not exactly a boarding newbie, but I've just replaced my boarding trousers and cannot fathom what some of the features are for.
For example:
1. A loop of red elastic between the inside of the leg and the outside of the boot gaitor. Looks like the sort of thing you get in the sleeves of jackets to attach gloves to.
2. A strap with a popper on the end that starts in the same place
3. A loop of material on the outside of the shin area with a popper on the inside. This could be related to 2.....
4. One belt loop (and only one) has a metal hole. Like a popper, but just a hole.
They've obviously thought hard about all the useful things they can build into trousers, I just wish they'd tell their customers!
Please feel free to post suggestions.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Raify, 2 and 3 are probably there to allow you to hitch up the bottom of your pants when walking to stop the bottoms dragging, otherwise you'd have to be a marketing man as david@mediacopy, says!

Hitching up the bottoms was about the only answer me and SWMBO could come up with last night. They certainly don't look sturdy enough to attach leashes to.
Oh, and another thing. Why do they continue to put back pockets on snowboarding trousers? The most pointless thing ever. It either builds up a nice icecube of snow to keep your back bottom wet all lunchtime or you put something in it so that you can later fall on it.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Raify,
2 & 3 sound like what I have in my Foursquare Q pants. When I open the inner leg vent, there's a strap of material with poppers and per what was said above. it is to pull the trousers up at the ankles..
Not sure how/what 1 looks like from your description: maybe something to tuck your gloves in?
