Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've been looking at getting a tune kit, because frankly my board needs tuning abit xD

Any recommendations all I can find are Dakine or Demon from UK sites or am I better off importing one over?

And how good are this edge tuners that come with some of them, do they beat an old school file?

MonsterTrain, old school file for me Very Happy we seem to be a bit less fussy with board edges than the skiers with their 'should my edges be 2 or 2.5%' angles Very Happy

I've serviced a few boards and I know this to be 100% true. It's a wonder some of them slide down a mountain or does this explain why they stop every 50yrs Smile

I managed to pick up a Dakine Super Tune kit of ebay from some guy in the states, pretty cheap. Think it came in a about £40 in delivery rather than £90 that some of the UK sites where charging.

The iron has an European plug on it but works perfectly with a plug travel adapter.......it was a great deal, think he even throw in some extra wax.

One bit of advice - don't use black wax on a clear board base! It becomes retained in every little scrape on the base and looks a right mess Evil or Very Mad
Sounds logical doesn't it? It does if you stop to think, obviously I didn't rolling eyes

Another vote for http://www.jonsskituning.co.uk/ . Went on one of Jon's courses the other week, interesting, fun and informative. Good advice on which bits were really needed. Cool

Well worth investing in own gear - I have been waxing board myself for awhile now and recently expanding into doing edges. Got to do my first p-tex repairs in next few weeks. Expensive to get the right stuff - but bought over a time is not so bad and will save loads over the local shop (at £30 a service).
