Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Video: Ski ace Tanner Hall apologises for anti-park "rollerbladers" rant

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This'll make sense if you read the article that goes with it (below the vid box) ... but it's well worth a view anyway:

Tanner Hall issues apology following baffling rant about park skiers

Quote:
To briefly summarize the original clip (which has since been pulled at the request of Tanner) the park skiing pioneer essentially slams those who "rollerblade" their way through terrain parks, and essentially called out many of the ski world's top pros for focusing their talents solely on park and pipe skiing during the alcohol-fueled tirade.

Tanner has always been outspoken, most famously when he had a pop at downhill skiers - I remember at the time quite a few observers in the US much as they appreciated he was the greatest half pipe skier in the world, were less than complimentary about his freeriding (personally I think he is top class). I can see where he is coming from though, he was a skier first before he was king of the park and it seems now that you can become a great park rider coming from for example a rollerblading background and quite honestly be a pretty lousy skier. I have the greatest respect for the guys who excel in park and backcountry like Tanner, Jon Olsson, Cody Townsend, Henrik Windstedt to name a few. And then there is the legend Candide Thovex who I believe is the greatest skier in the World. The best way to sort the men from the boys is by doing a backcountry gib comp and if you can't ski then you will be found out!: Check this out - and why is Candide not on the World Freeride Tour?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Apparently he'll be entering the Chamonix round. It'll be the proof in the pudding so to speak.

As to the Tanner thing I met him a bunch of times years ago when i was living in Chamonix. At the time he was pretty much at the peak of his powers & become more famous by the day. My overriding impression was that he was at best a very angry young man, at worst well maybe he was just an *rsehole.

Really? From all the interviews etc. he has come across as such a nice, genuine guy.
