Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Courchevel

Poster: A snowHead
I'm going to Courchevel for a week from next Saturday (19th Feb) and was wondering what the current conditions are like out there? I've seen that there hasn't really been much of a dumping for the past few weeks but was wondering what it's actually like out there on the pistes.

Thanks
Chris

chrisblore, another welcome to snowHeads. Afraid I can't help on your question, but as you have the same name as my nephew, I thought I'd say hello.

There are other reports though which may help, this one contains latest snow info on Courchevel http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=4504

Just back from Meribel (3 days) at the back end of last week. There was snow from Geneva to the resort. Skiied into Courcheval and down as low as Le Praz and La Tania. Plenty of snow there then and it has stayed cold. Back to Courcheval at the w/end. It could do with a dusting, but I reckon it will be OK for us, but after a busy half term week, it'll be in serious need of a good dump.

Check out the freezing level at the weekend, I wonder what this will do to the snow quality low down.
Looks like some good new snow above 2000m though. 10-15cms

The snow was still very good last week (30th Jan-6th Feb) but there were a few rocks appearing on one or two of the higher slopes (Jean Pachod) and runs into La Tania icey in parts after the previous day's warm sun. But mostly the temps stayed cold and the snow in good condition. Best snow was from Col de la Loze and Saulire down into Motteret. I agree with Sarge, I wouldn't want to ski there after the half term if they don't have any more snow.

Good. We stayed in 1650 and preferred to ski there or into Meribel rather than at 1850 which was busy even for the time of year. The best runs in 1650 were Creux (sp?) and others from the top of the Signal lift. Best run of the day was preceded by an end of day Vin Chaud at Bel Air and then down to 1650 for tea and cake!
