Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What Size 2010 Gotamas?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I'm a newbie on here so please treat me gently Very Happy

I am a level 8 skier 5ft 8 (172) and 185lbs (84kg). I've been skiing for 30years+ so have skied old school skis in the past.

I already have a pair of piste skis in the form of Atomic Nomads in 171 which I use for my everyday skiing but I am looking to get some Goats for off piste crud and powder. I dont jump cliffs or do any park and I prefer open terrain rather than trees. I ski pretty fast and aggresively and prefer GS turns.

Should I go with the 178's or the 186? Ideally I would have liked them in a 182 but Volkl dont do that size Sad

EB say go long and S+W say go short but go long if you must... Puzzled

Any help welcome!

go long
the rocker makes them a lot more nimble that a conventional shape ski of the same length

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Looking at the Volkl website the 2010 model comes in a choice of 194, Gay and Uber-Gay.

Happy to help.

Now lets be try and be at least reasonably PC about this, eh? The volkl size chart actually states: 194/confident in my sexuality thank you very much/tom cruise

I will take pleasure in relating this to him presently. Short skis suck slurs aside, the 186 is probably the way to go.

Good choice. As a slightly larger unit I'd go 194, which is proportionately the same. Really quite want a pair of these for the next canada trip.

Sorry about the juvenalia snowHead
