Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St Anton Lift Pass question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've just been looking at some recent resort reviews for St Anton on trip advisor and someone who went last month is claiming that there weren't any free buses to Lech and they had to pay 8 euros single on the Postbus.

I went in 2005 and free buses were included in the price of the lift pass.

Surely this is wrong, does anybody know ?

The free buses are the very small blue ones. To get from St Anton to Lech ski to Alpe Rauz and catch one of these buses.

The other larger buses which run from St Anton to Lech via St Christoph, Alpe Rauz and Zurs cost about €4 single.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sam the Ram, Agree with welshflyer, Best way is to ski to Alpe Rauz - very nice run - and get the bus from there. On way back get the bus from Lech to Alpe Rauz and either ski back to St Anton or get the next free bus from Alpe Rauz to St Anton. Alternatively, if there is a bunch of you it might be more convenient to get a taxi - will cost around €45

welshflyer, has it right...

We paid to play last time I went -c. 10 euro return...usually log-jam, with the bus managing to drive off whilst I was on the rack trying to get my board out..

Don't even bother trying to be polite - look after yer mates and then push like mad...

Or, the Post Bus is for when you get up early on a powder day and want to ski fresh tracks in Lech while everyone else is queuing for the lifts in St Anton... (Actually, I've never done that, I've always queued up or skied at Rendl first thing on a powder day, but I keep meaning to take the early bus to Lech one of these days.)

Ski down to the bottom of the Valfagehr lift and take the blue bus 7 or 3 for free (6 every hour). Get off at the Rufiplatz in Lech and you can walk straight in to the Rufikopf lift, or cross the road and turn right past Sportalp for the Schlegelkopf lifts.
