There are a couple of planes that left from Gatwick in the last hour for Grenoble - one is Monach and a Squeezyjet

Let people remember this next time we have the classic pub-bore winge about how a few centimetres of snow brings the UK grinding to a halt. Geneva was closed for 6 hours to remove 10 cms - less than much of the UK has had.

Wrong kind of snow apparently, the normal swiss stuff gets itself organised in proper layers and ready to be leave, apparently this stuff, possibly Brexit type snow, is sort of sticky and changes from easy to remove to very sticky, hence the delay

I hope innsbruck is OK, as I'm flying in today and it was shut 2 weeks ago coming back after Ny.
As the great Oscar Wilde might have put it
' to arrive at one closed airport is unfortunate, but to do s so twice would be positively careless!!'

Grenoble open - we just taking off for LGW 3.5 hours late.
Pretty chaotic at the airport - little information or communication.
A couple of flights had passengers bussed to Lyon
Flights started landing around 11.

You know it makes sense.

Seatbelts on here at Edinburgh so hopefully departing soon, 90 min delay, could be worse

Not again. When we were in Finland Thomson (through crystal) nicked our plane to pick Grenoble folk up so we had an 11 hour delay. Hope all sorts for everyone.

Once was sat on the ground for 8 hours at Lyon. It snowed continuously. The plane got deiced more than once. Finally it looked like we were going to get away. The cabin had got a bit stinky so the captain asked the flight attendants to open a front door and a rear door to get a bit of through flow ventilation.
The rear door was opened without the flight attendant de activating the emergency slide. Big bang and the slide deployed.
The BA captain had an official sense of humour failure.
About the only good thing was as it was the airlines fault they put us up in a hotel at their expense.

Check, recheck and then check again when things are not running to the routine.
But it can happen to the best of them - even the Queens Flight They thought it had been initiated but had not gone bang. So they removed it from the aircraft (it looks pretty much like a sailing emergency raft in a similar container). After half an hour someone decided it would be OK so put it in a hire car to go and exchange it. Guess what - BANG - and a hire car with no windows!!!
