Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Innsbruck Easter Weekend?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Thinking of heading out to Innsbruck for a long weekend at Easter - just wondered if anyone has any experience of skiing this area and whether it is likely to be as busy as other resorts at Easter.

Any advice gratefully accepted as always.

Cheers

Busy in comparison to where? And how far are you willing/able to travel from Innsbruck?

We've done Mayrhofen a few Easters, and also Solden, both of which have had plenty of skiing available that time of year and weren't what I'd call busy except as ski-school start/end times.

Never been away at Easter before so not really sure what I'm comparing it to! I just hear that most resorts are very busy at Easter and want to try and choose somewhere which is less busy than others. I figured Innsbruck would be good because the Stubai Glacier should still have some good snow conditions and there are a few other resorts within fairly easy reach.

We'll have a car so would be quite happy to travel up to an hour or so from Innsbruck.

nickr, Don't know about Innsbruck but here in Zillertal (30-40mins drive from Innsbruck) Easter is normally pretty quiet. As soon as Easter comes most of the German/Italian/Dutch visitors prefer to go to the beach.
