Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Zell am See / Kaprun - advice re. hotels / accom.

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Thinking of taking a trip to Kaprun or Zell am See at the end of Jan or beginning of Feb and wondered if there were any recommendations re. hotels?

Ideally looking for half-board, somewhere close to the lifts.

Any suggestions?

Been to both and prefer Zell to be honest! depends on budget and who's going, theres some lovely hotels right beside the lake, possibly 10 mins or so walk to the lift, we stayed at the Freiberg, nice but a bit further away than we'd have liked (changed by tour operator), I'll have a look as cant remember names, will get back to you!

abj, depending on your budget the Tirolerhof is the best in town.

abj, been to the Lebzelter in Zell twice and enjoyed both visits, good food and in the pedestrian bit of town. Staying in Zell, if you get a locker for your gear at the CityExpress gondola station makes any hotel within 10 mins walk viable.

Personally always stay B&B in Zell... go every year in Feb. Best in town is in my humble opinion Pension Hubertus right opp the City Exrpress Lify, opposite interport and next to the ski school... 5 mins walk into town.... there's loads of very good restaurants in town... and very reasonably priced for a ski resort too.
