Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wanted Instructor for private lessons

Poster: A snowHead
43 yr old Male novice skier seeks help. If you feel you have the time and patience to help build my confidence and ability to progress further then I would like to hear from you. You do not necessarily have to be qualified or a practicing instructor, but it would be an advantage. The lessons would be in Austria for a week at a time this season and possibly thereafter. You would have the opportunity for excellent skiing yourself. Please get in touch with your contact details via the site if you are interested. Further details will be discussed after contact.

Welcome to snowHead

You should check out http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=58537 and the coaching clinics run by Insideout skiing. Having been coached by insideout myself I can confirm they are excellent. Alternatively have a look at http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=54987 as well.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

AndyOBee, yes they should be, or they may not be legally allowed to work in parts of Austria or be insured. You should check that their level of instruction permits them to work independently (check with their qualifying body) - some more junior instructors should only be employed by ski schools. And besides that, you will also learn so much more from a really experienced instructor.

As well as Inside Out Skiing mentioned above you could also check out World Class Skiing in Austria. I've been on their courses and they are excellent. http://www.world-class-skiing.com/home.aspx If you are only looking for private instruction rather than group clinics you could contact Alex Leaf and ask if this could be arranged. Alex also has a blog here:

AndyOBee, I know you say Austria and 1:1, but can I offer you an alternative thought to consider too? I have organised a trip in March to Les Deux Alpes in France specifically for people who need to raise confidence levels. The lessons are in groups, but the max group size is 4, giving plenty of time for 1:1 attention, plus peer support both during and when practising outside the lesson time. The link to the details is below.

BTW - welcome to SH! There is quite a handful of SnowHeads who live in & around Yorkshire and occasionally there are small get-togethers at either Castleford or ChillFactor-e.

AndyOBee, welcome to snowHeads snowHead

I'd second the recommendation for InsideOut skiing http://www.insideoutskiing.com/ , I've been a regular on their excellent indoor coaching sessions at Hemel Hempstead throughout the summer/autumn. If you drop them an email they may be able to help you. Rob and Scott, the two instructors, are both long-standing members of snowheads.

Thanks for replying to my post on the forum. Sorry been a while gettingt back to you, but not been too well. Let me know a bit more about yourself, age, ability, etc, and what you are looking for. I am collating responses, with a view to looking at something possibly a small group, for March.

Look forward to hearing from you

Butterfly,
Hi Thanks for the welcome. It would be great for you to keep in touch and keep me informed of any "meetups" of yorks etc members.
I haven't been to chill factore as yet, had mixed reviews of it thought, but I certainly look forward to trying it. I am a reasonably regular visitor to Xscape.
thanks

Yep, Toby is pretty good. I've not been coached by him but have skied with him a couple of times.
