When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Taxpayers to subsidise skiing holiday for MEPs' children

Taxpayers will be heavily subsidising a skiing holiday in the Italian Alps for the children of MEPs and European Parliament officials, according to a story in the Telegraph. The eight-day holiday is planned for February. Eighty children aged between eight and 17 years will be able to go, giving some time off from parenting for officials. ...The holiday is priced at 920 euros and will be generously subsidised by the parliament's budget. Households will get different levels of subsidy depending on their income, but even those earning over £108,000 will get a discount.
