Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

poe, where exactly are you staying? Passy is at about 800m just beside the autoroute A40 - should at least mean you're unlikely to need snow chains. Should also mean your tomtom won't talk rubbish - straight down Reims/Dijon/Bourg en Bresse/Geneva/Passy. Be aware that they can be seriously misleading on little local roads, or higher passes, in the Alps. They don't understand about snow.

Will you be driving to the slopes? Plenty of options round there but the roads in resorts will be pretty busy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

apparently we have to take juntion 21 from the A40 towards Passy and we are staying on a hill overlooking Passy off a road by the post office????

we will be driving to the slopes, our nearest one is Plaine Joux which is small but probably the best place for us with the children and all that, other places that are about 20 mins drive away are:
contamines
chamonix
st gervais
les houches
megeve

We (apart from the old dear) have only ever skiied in Northern Finland so we are used to little slopes and quiet resorts so I am somewhat hesitant if I am going to like skiing in France and the busiest time of the year, so hopefully the little resort of Paline Joux will be quiet as it's so small and not challenging (for most people that is, I will probably find it horridly scarey)
