Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How much does it cost to hire Ski Boots only

 Poster: A snowHead

I'm staying in Meribel in mid January. I have a a pair of ski so the only equipment I need to hire is ski boots. All the packages I can find online include ski and boots. What is a reasonable amount to pay for a weeks hire of boots only. I'm trying to work out if I should buy a pair before I go or just settle for renting. Any opinions would be really helpful.

Ulysses, Most sites quote a price for skis and a price for skis and boots. The difference should give you a guide to boot hire priced.

The boot only price is much more than the difference between the ski only and ski+boots price. My brother found this out when we were in Hemsedal last week as he got a pair of boots from a different provider next to the slopes as his previous set (supplied with skis etc) were killing him and the other hirer shop was a couple of miles and lots of lost skiing time away.

Price was about £25 for 5 days. The difference between skis+boots and skis only was £10.

Not a huge sum anyway.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ulysses, this place http://www.alpinresorts.com/en/ski-rental looks like you can rent boots alone, just took a quick nosey, €25 for Meribel for a week mid Jan.

so there's not much benefit in renting skis only is there? (i mean beyond the non financial advantages of owning a pair of boots). I am surprised that the differecne is 10eur per week only....
