Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Feb to Chamonix - alone but not desperate ?

 Poster: A snowHead

HI folks,

Little background, have been boarding for about 8 years and always been with my mates - at least 5 of us. However, I was unable to go last year due to having a new baby( not me, my mrs!) and my mates have all stopped going foe one reason or another. The original plan was to go with the mrs for a week with the baby, but it has proved to be far to expensive, a week with childcare and travel was 2.5K !

So - I am think about going for cheeky 3 full day ski in Chamonix around 4th Feb.. I have costed it up and from Bhm to Gen, the chambus, then Gite la vagabond and ski pass comes in about £350 for 4 nights, 3 full days on slopes.

I am happy to go alone, but just wandered if anyone was around in cham at this time or if any rooms in apartments were going cheap ? I know Chamonix pretty well and the Gite I'm thinking about is a little walk to the two so a central apartment/room would be better. Nothing fancy - just a bed !

Anyone got any ideas or thoughts ? Also - whats is like going aloine - vnever done it before, in fact I am finding it a little bit exciting ?

D
