Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Park ski. Volkl Wall or K2 Extreme?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi there,

First off; thanks for a nice forum, it's been nice to follow it from the sideline and through the search function.

This year, I've decided to finally supplement my rather narrow Atomic piste ski, with a wider twintip ski for the park. I'm 21, and have had around 15-16 weeks of skiing in total.
I've done alot of searching on your forum and on the web in general to figure out what would suit me well. I want the ski to be somewhat versatile, but mainly for the park. My searchings have basicly ammounted to two potential candidates: Volkls Wall or K2 Extreme, mainly based on positive reviews from the internet.

My "concerns" are the following:
- I've read that Volkl is a rather stiff ski, and although that usually doesn't bother me, I was wondering if that would be a problem? I'm not the most experienced park-rider, but I've got the jump, the air and the landing pretty much figured out.
- I've read that the Extreme is somewhat heavy? Hmmm! Big problem?

I'm also open to entirely different suggestions. I don't neccesarily need it to be this years model.

I look forward to see what you have to say.

Best regards,
Thomas.

The new Wall is a lot softer than last year's, which suits your goal.
As for the K2 Extreme (= Public Enemy of '09), I wouldn't recommend it as a park ski, pure all-mountain twin-tip imo.

Here is a topic on the Wall: http://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/501375/

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for your reply. It's nice to know that the Wall is softer this year.

And thanks for the links - good reading!
