Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New boots probs 2

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Well, the good news is that after a few evenings walking around the living room getting odd looks from my wife the boots are, generally, more comfortable.

The main issue that has developed is that it feels like there is not quite enough room for my right big toe - it seems to be right up against the liner and isn't comfortable. I'm assuming the shop can do something for this. Would they blow out the front or cut out the liner somehow? Alernatively would a custom liner be better or is this mainly for under-foot issues?

As I will be in the Arlberg in 13 days there's always the possibility of some Strolz liners - waste of money?

Any ideas much appreciated Little Angel

Many thanks

owen4220, wait until you are skiing in them. Decent forward flex will bring the big toe back a bit - which may (or may not) help. If that doesn't work, a shell punch or grind in resort may sort it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

owen4220, do you have your own skis? If so drop them on to the lounge floor & click in so you can flex the boot properly to pull your heel fully back. Also make sure that you fasten the clog buckles last & then do a few flexes before fastening them on a loose setting. If you've still got problems that it's a shell punch/grind as scarpa says, rather than a lining issue. And make sure your toe nails are short.

owen4220, I had the exact same problem with my right big toe with some new boots.

I did'nt notice this whilst skiing though and after a few days use my right foot was as comfortable as my left with plenty of room for my big toe.
