Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cheap way to ski - ideas??

Hi there,

Is there anyone who can help me out please. I am trying to get myself away for a week in Easter but wanting to keep the cost down as much as possible. Does anyone have any ideas or experience of trying to go skiing on a budget. Not to bothered about the resort but cant go until March 27th due to work commitments. Any advice would be great.

Thanks

mansize-rooster, Welcome to Snowheads

As you might imagine this topic crops up frequently - so here are some useful threads to get you started. Once you've digested that lot and perhaps come up with some ideas from them/of your own then come back and ask for more advice but tell us more about you/your skiing needs - are you single/married/with kids/with friends. Do you like greens/blues or hard-core off-piste. Do you want luxury or absolutely the lowest cost possible..

Thanks folk. Yeah i though it may be a topic that crops up, sorry!! I am 28, im a "lazy" intermediate (should try harder to improve!!) really but intending to go with a mate who will be more beginner/intermediate. Have been to a few decent resorts recently - Saas fee, les arc, vars, passo tonale so not too fussed where we go. Not much of an off piste nut, like long runs with a fair degree of difficulty oh and a decent bar or two in resort would be nice!!!

I will go and digest the info you have posted. Thanks

mansize-rooster, Action-Outdoors booking for a UCPA would probably do the trick quite well then.. good prices, good instruction, some nice places - take yer pick. Val Thorens, Tignes or L2A might be a good bet at that time of year.

Hi there, have been searching around and really like the look of Val Thorens as a resort and should meet mine and mates need pretty well with a variety of slopes. Just as a guideline could anyone suggest what sort of price I should be looking to tell mate to get saved for this - what would be a good value trip!!

Flight
Hotel
Ski Hire
Transfers
Ski Pass

Thanks

£600pp for that lot should be your high watermark, if you substitute 'hotel' for 'basic self catered apartment'.

Nice one thanks - That seems to be about the price that I keep bumping into!! Think may go for the easy option and get some sort of package deal - may pay over the odds but this will be first time I have organised owt like this and maybe best to play it "relatively safe" first time - plus mate would kill me if I made a balls up of it!!
