Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Will this mix breathe?

Just bought some new base layers for my son in anticipation of very cold temps next week. I was struggling to find long sleeved ones but got some in M&S Kids Ski section which state they are breathable and wicking however the fabric is 50% cotton, 25% polyester and 25% viscose.

What do you think? Will they do? How sweaty can a 5 year old get?

Thanks snowHead

50% cotton probably isn't the best for a base layer.

Aldi had kids size thermals in a couple of weeks ago. Might still be in stock.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

sarah, My sprogs got very sweaty at that age (and still do). That does not sound an ideal mix. Wet cotton gets cold fast. Those sound ok for the UK - not so sure for skiing.

Decathlon also do some nice cheapo baselayers.

sarah, what stoatsbrother says. I popped into Decatholon at the weekend only briefly but long enough to see that they had a huge selection of baselayers for kids. My eldest has one of the adult tops which has been fantastic for skiing but in particular for hockey training and matches over two seasons.

sarah, they do sound very comfortable though, especially for indoor loungewear.

In the mid-to-late 90s there were quite a few sports fabrics that had a mix roughly matching that one, they breathed very well. In the summer.

Thanks everyone, it's what I thought really, not ideal. Shame because they are a nice quality, cut, shape and style and fabric is brushed inside.

Alas Decathlon Stockport had no base layers left for small kids, completely cleaned out well apart from a decent looking pale green girls one which I bought for him anyway Toofy Grin

Will keep looking.

sarah, my wife has the M+S ones too. No problems at all.
For me it would be, but for the sprogs I doubt it would be an issue really?
