Avago, The anoraks amongst us will say the wax cools too quickly, however I doubt there are many who could tell the difference.

Avago, bring em inside to warm up before you wax, the bases need to be warm or the wax doesnt penetrate well. then make a few passes over the base with the iron to preheat the base before putting wax down, cooling isnt a big problem IMO.

I do mine in the living room in front of the telly... then stick 'em in the cellar to cool down nice and slowly.

The best place to do it; it stops the beer from getting warm.

Unheated places are not best ones for many reasons, but if there's no other chance, they do just fine. Sometimes, you just need to work faster, but that's actually good thing, since it keeps you warm

As mentioned above, put the skis somewhere warm for a few hours first and then wax as soon as you can before they get too cold.

Waxing in a cold garage will result in catastrophic ski failure. Skis do not react well to the cold you see...

I'd worry more about your hands being cold than your skis!!!!!.................I do mine on the balcony though (with gloves on!!) so I'm sure it will be fine in your garage!!!

While it's best to let them cool slowly in real terms you won't notice the difference unless you're looking for top notch race performance. Did mine on the balcony mid winter and they were fine.

A very smelly job, wax smell just lingers for a long time.
DO NOT do it inside your house.
