Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Our dryslope will not take them below 4 and even then we try to teach through play, we have to teach to a degree for safety.
At the end of their beginers course I always explain to the parents not just to expect too much but not to expect anything, never push then and expect to do lots of sledging snow ball fights with very little skiing and become an expert at buiding snowmen.
The foundations laid at that age will reap the benifits as they get older

3 is a fairly common age that some ski-schools will take them, but there is no reason why they can't start skiing earlier that that. I've posted this video before:

The first half of this is #2son, taken when last February when he was about 22 months.

The second half is his elder brother, then aged 7.5yrs, who started at a similar age.

Allright, the first kid is what we generally see in 3 year olds. They enjoy themselfes sliding... A parent should not be disapointed if thats it really... The other kid is awesome, he's better then me ;P

I kind of have to eat my words, it IS posible to get a 3 year old skiing, i have one in my class now who skis Wengiboden, speed control, turns, the whole thing in smallish snowplow (for those who know Wengen)... Everybody agrees this is exceptional however Wink
And he managed to get on the button tow as well.... Best 3 yr old i ever had

Ronald, it is possible to get a 3 year old skiing 'cos I had three of them who could snowplough turn, control, stop etc etc but they needed to be taken up the button. Smile

slikedges, I think a certain above average attention to snowy mountains may have some influence Wink
