Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Rare low-altitude snow falls on San Francisco

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A major snowstorm currently sweeping western US states has covered relatively low ground in San Francisco.

This report from The Californian.com

Quote:
Snow dusted San Francisco's suburbs at elevations of only 350 feet, delighting children and impressing weather experts, who said it was unusual to see the white stuff in the Oakland Hills and in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Great hills to ski down if it stays, and just get a tram back up!

Perfect timing from the Gods of Weather to remind those in Copenhagen that their hot air might be the primary driver of AGW. Given they are obsessed with average global temperatures I am not sure this snow fall matters much. Relying on the average view, without attendant statistics is a bit like saying you can't ski in a mountain resort as the average temperature is above freezing so it can't possibly have snow.

Unusual, yes. Unheard of, no.

It sometimes snows in the hills around San Francisco. This is one of those times. It will probably happen again sometime in the next ten years, unless it doesn't.

And no, it means not a thing as far as global warming is concerned.
