Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Suunto owners - what colour face do you have?

I'm considering getting a Suunto Core, but I'm not sure wether to go for a light background and dark numbers (meant to be easier to read in bad light), or dark background and light numbers (meant to be easier to read in good light).

Considering skiing could both be in very bright light as well as overcast, I'm wondering what other folk have???

Cheers,

Greg

ok black seems to be the favoured colour, now to find a good deal on one!

Looks like some ok prices on ebay from the USA, but adding in VAT & importy duty is going to take the prices close to UK ones ...

Anyone know of any good deals?

Cheers,

greg

I have a Core light green which has black numbers on a silver face. Very easy to read and looks a bit less Timex, IMO.

Just checked the Facewest site and the black Core model retails at £179.99p plus they have a loyalty scheme that gives you 10% off your next purchase. So if you go on to buy a jacket for example you wil get £17.99p off. I have used Facewest quite a few times and have always been pleased with their service - at the moment you also get free shipping within the u.k.

£165 in black and yellow. I had the light green for £150 or so about two weeks back. Looks like that deal has been pulled.

I have my Suunto Altimax for 7 years now. Not had a single problem. Mine has a light background with black number and I never had a problem in very good or very poor conditions. In fact, I was in one of the worst storms (total whiteout, driving snow, wind etc) that I have ever experienced at 6500m (mountaineering) and my trusty Altimax came in very handy. Personally, I reckon the numbers are easier to read in poor conditions when they are black.

It depends on how much Genepi I have had. But as for my watch, it has a black face which becomes luminous green when it lights up.
