Poster: A snowHead

I went to buy a set of 100s today and was told by the shop that they had rejected the Prophets due to a fault in the construction. Line have accepted that there is a fault but are a bit slow doing anything about it.
Apparently the capping on the ski has been moulded off centre, so on one side the ski body is level with the edge and on the other there is a step. The guy at the shop reckons this may affect the way it skis, and also there will be issues when they are serviced as youll remove some of the ski body when doing the edges on one side.
Ellis Brigham and others are still selling these, so have a close look at them if youre going to buy some.

were you in ski bartletts by any chance?
Chris one of the guys spotted the fault on them, I know he has sent all his back and I have done the same with my skis that were effected! I think it was only the 172's that were effected!

Yeah, It was Bartletts. I'm glad i went to them , as i dont think other stores have noticed the fault.
I think Bartletts have sent the lot back, but I dont think Line is gonna come up with the replacement stock.
I'm gutted, as I was gonna buy some.
So Dan, you sent your own Prophets back or youre in a shop? If so, what do you know about it?

I work for a shop... All I know is the skis that were effected have been returned, Line UK do have a back order of the 100's but they haven't been confirmed yet so waiting to hear if we are going to get anymore!
I still have some left in stock in a 179 which are fine

Hi.
Any more news on this? My pair of 172s seem to have this same problem.
What are line doing with the effected skis.
Thanks

just look at both edges of the ski and they should look the same! there should be about a 2mm step away from the sidewall to the edge, the skis in question there was about a 4mm step on one side and absolutely none on the other! which meant if u tried to sharpen the one edge you would take the side wall with it!
Its an obvious fault if your looking for it! but I wouldn't of noticed it if it wasn't for Chris from bartletts phoning to tell me to check out all the stock, if your skis are like this take them back and they will be warrantied!
