Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I want to buy a pair of skis from Sport Conrad which I believe are based in Germany, the only problem is that i'm going skiing on the 22nd December and i'm concerned they might not get here in time. Has anyone bought skis from these chaps before and how long did they take to get to the UK and did they get held up in customs at all.

Any answers would help, I want to get from these guys as they're about £100 cheaper than Snow & Rock.

Johnnyseven, Welcome to snowheads.

Shipping from Sport Conrad is usually just a few days & there's no custom within Europe. If the skis come with bindings fitted you'll need to get the DIN settings & the forward pressure adjustment correctly set before you use them.

Thanks for that. Being new to having my own skis, i've always hired before, can you explain DIN settings & forward pressure adjustment for me.

Johnnyseven, do a search, there's plenty of stuff posted.

Basically if you don't know about these adjustments take your new skis & a boot to your local shop & ask them to set them for you. Most will do it for free. If you're local to Nottingham I'll do it for you.

Thanks for that, unfortunately i'm not local to Nottingham. I just have to decide what skis I definitely want now.

Johnnyseven, had 3 pairs of skis from them. Very good service. Usually 2-3 days and you can track online.

Johnnyseven, I've bought two pairs of skis from them and like stoatsbrother, had great service and found despatch & delivery very quick. They also have helpful English speaking staff who will talk you through binding mounting before they drill the skis.

Ordered my skis Sunday evening and they arrived today on the Thursday! - 1 week before Xmas. Cannot fault them, great service. I will definitely use them again. They carry a lot of stock and slightly cheaper than UK shops. I was forced to use them due to no K2 169 Kung Fujas in UK, but good thing I did.
