I am searching for a romantic resort with a romantic chalet (wood. open fire etc) for 2 (obviously) in a ski resort.
Probably in Swizerland, but Austria may be an option - I have not been there for ages. She is a non skier (yet) so needs a good place to start (and I am happy on anything - should I teach? no. Theres a whole thread in itsself)
Swizerland is good for trains n stuff from Geneva - easy to get to from oop north.
Probably self catering is best too for medium cheepness and diet requirements (I have looked a renting Parlor's chalet - hmmm nice but I will need to sell my car / body)
Any ideas for a quieter place I may not have been to?
Expectantly anticipating torrents of crudeness......(heck this wouldnt be Snowheads without it)....

What about log cabins in Lapland/Ruka/Levi etc. Its the only place I could find traditional log cabins for two. Although not exactly cheap.

lampbus, I know of a very pretty Scandinavian-style, s/c chalet in Morillon with gorgeous views, hot tub, open fire etc which may suit, but not sure when you are thinking of? It's too big for just two really, but not sure where you'd find the self-catering aspect alongside the other requirements - not many s/c apartments would have an open fire for example. Drop me a pm if it may suit

lampbus, no open fire, but romantic views of the slopes, and it's ideal for 2. Unfortunately not so easy to get to from Geneva, as you know it's past Les Deux-Alps, and over the Lauteret. You know where I am if you're interested.

Shame The Bunker in Verbier has shut down, would have been perfect, no?
How about the people who do the yurt on a mountain thing?
